After having a great New Year’s Eve weekend spent with friends, my trip to Costa Rica is starting to become more and more real. The majority of my friends are going abroad this upcoming semester, and I realized that seeing my friends one last time before I left was kind of like a real goodbye—an actual end to my semester at Ripon and a new beginning to one in Costa Rica.
Everyone who I’ve told about going abroad keeps telling me that I’ll have a great time, I’ll never want to leave, and I might even find more than love for the country…well I don’t know about that last one…but it’s strange because with the continued reassurances from everybody else, I have high expectations, and I just can’t wait to have them fulfilled! In fact I had a dream that I was in Costa Rica last night…a sign? I think yes!
While I still have four weeks until I leave on January 29, I now officially feel like what I thought was a far off dream is now becoming a reality. I guess the question now is how will I spend these next four weeks in the only country I’ve ever known up until this point in my life?…I think I’m going to work out :)
